[The Journal turns its audio recording system on midway through a violin and cello duet.
As the last notes are played, Stephen Maturin speaks.]
Beautifully played, my love. Another?
[And then it cuts out.]
[Two hours later, Maturin is properly at his Journal, writing in it.]
Pardon me for bothering you all. I have two questions.
One-- I am seeking music. Duettos, in particular. Bach, Boccherini, Mozart. Anything of that nature. The instruments do not matter, the music may be transposed, but anything for the violin and cello would be wonderful.
Two-- A small journal I had been keeping has gone missing. I suspect the infestation of rats we previously had. I had been keeping my observations about the wildlife in it, though it will not be difficult to begin again if I must. Still, best to ask if it has come into anyone's possession, rather than give it up for lost immediately.
